CESAR Talks with Shandra Bombay

December 3, 2020 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Join CESAR and Shandra Bombay for an evening of Indigenous hand drumming and singing to calm us during these stressful holiday times!

Shandra Spears Bombay (Anishinaabe) has been singing traditional music with a hand-drum for many years, reaching audiences from coast to coast to coast.  She performed in Igloolik at the Rockin’ Walrus Festival, sang in the Anishinaabe language during the Gchi Chagna Singers project in Wikwemikong, and shared her voice and song on the amazing CD “Women’s Voices for Attawapiskat.”  She has sung with incredible Indigenous artists including Toronto’s Hidden River Singers, everywhere from gala performances to ceremonies and rallies.  Shandra is happy to bring her voice and energy to the CESAR Talks series, and will bring some context to the sharing and meaning of the songs she shares.  Shandra is Anishinaabe from Rainy River First Nations/Manitou Rapids, raised in Chatham, Ontario.
