Living in a Pandemic. A series of talks amidst COVID 19
May 14, 2020 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm
Students’ and community members’ perspectives on what is the new normal. Coping and Survival in a Pandemic: Social Distancing, Isolation and You.
On Friday, March 13, 2020 CESAR’s office closed in response to COVID-19. Suddenly, our world, as we knew it, was disrupted and changed forever. Since then, the Government of Ontario has extended the Declaration of Emergency and associated emergency measures, including the closure of non-essential workplaces and imposed restrictions, including social gatherings. In addition, all educational institutions closed to beat this virus, and for many students, social distancing and online studying has been a huge adjustment. We all need to work together and do our part to stop COVID-19 by staying home, practising physical distancing, and avoiding social gatherings.
With the realities of social distancing and isolation, this series of talks will address coping and survival while “Living in a Pandemic.”
- Living in student housing / Access to resources and support
- Studying online (lack of support/distanced from professors)
- Practising physical and social distancing (isolation)
- Mental Health (coping with stress/depression/lack of motivation)
- Lack of prioritization from the University
- Coming together and actively helping each other
Any questions about the COVID-19 Talks can be directed to Carol Sutherland, Vice President Services and Finance.
