Understanding the Good Samaritan Drug Overdose Act

Understanding the Good Samaritan Drug Overdose Act

This harm reduction training session will discuss the toxic drug supply crisis and how we can keep our communities safe by becoming first responders to substance-related emergencies.
With a brief overview of the harm reduction framework and administering naloxone, this session will outline protections for first responders under the Good Samaritan Drug Overdose Act.
Protections for people who use substances will also be discussed as well as the limitations of this act.
This session is complete with a round of Harm Reduction Trivia. Prizes will be available for the top-scoring participants. Come learn skills for community safety with us.
Co-hosted with CESAX and Students for Harm Reduction.
